This policy covers all products operated by BNED AI LLC ("we," "us"): bnedai.com, Career Gap Lab (bnedleadership.com), the Resilient Leaders Program, Signal (bnedsignal.com), and Pod Green Room (podgreenroom.com). It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to get your data deleted. We've tried to write it the way we'd want to read it.
1. What we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored in hashed form — we can't see it).
Content you provide. Depending on the product, this may include assessment responses and career profile answers (Career Gap Lab), uploaded contact lists and podcast details (Pod Green Room), donor research queries (Signal), and questions you submit through support or in-product features.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep records of what you purchased, when, and the receipt details Stripe shares with us.
Newsletter subscription. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and engagement data (opens, clicks) through our email platform.
Usage analytics. We use privacy-focused analytics to understand how people move through our sites (page views, button clicks, purchase funnel steps). This does not use advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites.
2. How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide the products you signed up for — scoring assessments, generating reports, delivering purchased tools
- Send transactional emails you'd expect: results, receipts, account notices
- Send marketing emails only if you opted in, with a working unsubscribe link in every one
- Improve our products by looking at aggregate usage patterns
- Respond when you contact us
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
3. AI processing — what actually happens
Several of our products use AI to generate outputs (assessment profiles, guest recommendations, reports, briefs). When you use these features, the content you provide is sent to third-party AI providers solely to generate your output. We use providers whose terms commit to not training their models on this data.
AI outputs can be wrong. Treat recommendations as suggestions to verify, not facts.
A note on "Ask Jacqueline" (Career Gap Lab): questions submitted through this feature are read and answered by a person. Don't submit anything you wouldn't want a human to read.
4. Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers needed to run the products:

We may also disclose information if legally required (e.g., a valid subpoena), or in connection with a business transfer — in which case this policy would still govern your data.
5. Your data, your rights
Access and deletion. Email us at hi@bnedai.com from your account email and we'll provide or delete your data. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your content from our systems; some records (like payment history) must be retained for tax and legal compliance.
Unsubscribe. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Transactional emails (receipts, results you requested) are sent regardless because they're part of the service.
Correction. If something we have about you is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
We're a US-based company. If you're in a region with specific privacy rights (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA, etc.), email us and we'll honor the applicable rights — access, deletion, portability, and objection to processing.
6. Data you upload about other people
Some products (like Pod Green Room) let you upload contact lists, such as exported LinkedIn connections. You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload that data and that your use complies with the source platform's terms. We process it only to generate your outputs, and it's deleted when you delete your account.
7. Cookies and sessions
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you logged in and remember your session. Our analytics is cookieless. We don't run third-party advertising trackers.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest with our infrastructure providers. Access to production data is limited. No system is perfectly secure — if we ever discover a breach affecting your personal data, we'll notify you promptly at the email on your account.
9. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Free accounts inactive for more than 24 months may be deleted after email notice. Payment records are retained as required by tax law (generally 7 years).
10. Children
Our products are built for working professionals and are not directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors; if we learn we have, we'll delete it.
11. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll email account holders before the changes take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
