How Do I Show My AI Agent to an Audience Without Exposing Real People's Data?
I just run a demo so that I'm not sharing too much personal information from the people that I'm working with.
Run a demo. Have your AI agent build the spreadsheet with demo names, fake emails and fake phone numbers, keep a separate demo AI agent, and share only that. I do this whenever I share my own dashboard or systems.
At the end of the October 7, 2026 session someone asked to see my dashboard. I had people I was meeting that week, so I asked my AI agent for a spreadsheet with demo names, fake emails and phone numbers instead (54:33).
What do you tell the AI agent to build for the demo?
I had people I was meeting that week and did not want their names on a shared screen. So I told my AI agent to build the spreadsheet from made-up people.
From the recording, 54:33. I don't want to create a spreadsheet with everyone's name. Let's see with demo names for a test with fake emails and phone numbers.
My sentence has three parts: a spreadsheet, demo names, and fake emails and phone numbers.
Why keep a separate demo AI agent?
Earlier in the session I had made the same split with the AI agent itself. The one I built for the group was a demo, and my working one stayed elsewhere.
From the recording, 18:33. I'm just going to do a demo agent and put WAAI because I actually have a chief of staff agent that I run day to day.
I also said how much that working setup holds, as of October 7, 2026.
From the recording, 54:56. As I mentioned, I run 32 agents in this system. So I have a lot of information.
What do you share, and what stays closed?
I share the demo. The working account stays closed.
From the recording, 55:04. I just run a demo so that I'm not sharing too much personal information from the people that I'm working with.
On my own dashboard, I chose not to open it:
From the recording, 55:15. So I won't actually jump in the hood and show you my full dashboard. I mean, I just want to be transparent. Why? Because I don't want to share personal information because I actively use this account.
The same passage on keeping a practice setup apart from real data is on How Do You Practice With an AI Agent Without Risking Real Data?.
What is the checklist before you share a screen?
The three moves:
- A demo spreadsheet, built with demo names, fake emails and fake phone numbers.
- A separate demo AI agent, next to the one you run day to day.
- Share only the demo.
What does this look like for your own list?
Three situations, each a slot swap of my sentence. These are examples; replace the brackets with yours.
- Client names. Example, replace with yours: Create a spreadsheet of my [clients] with demo names for a test with fake emails and phone numbers.
- A guest list. Example, replace with yours: Create a spreadsheet of my [podcast guests this month] with demo names for a test with fake emails and phone numbers.
- A donor list. Example, replace with yours: Create a spreadsheet of my [donors] with demo names for a test with fake emails and phone numbers.
What goes wrong
Two things I named, both in my own lines above. The first is sharing too much personal information from the people you work with. That is the reason I run a demo in the 55:04 line. The second is opening a working account in front of an audience. That is the reason I did not open my dashboard in the 55:15 line.
What the recording does not show: my own dashboard. I chose not to open it, and this page does not describe it.
Where this comes from
This article grows from the session I taught live with Women Applying AI on October 7, 2026. The quoted passages are my own words, taken verbatim from the recording. The steps, tables and checklists around them were drafted by my team's AI agents from those words and my published pages, and checked against the recording before publishing. Screen steps are dated as shown October 7, 2026, and screens change.
